When a person looks in the mirror and sees that their body isn’t the size or shape they’d like it to be, this can be a trigger for a loss of self-esteem and confidence. Carl Daikeler is a man on a mission to prevent that from happening. His Beachbody program is set up to help a person succeed in losing weight and to maintain that weight loss for life. In the early years of Daikeler’s career, he was a producer for the National Football League. During his five-year tenure with the organization, he coordinated halftime events and produced the shows for live audiences.
After his departure from the NFL, Carl Daikeler reinvented himself and entered the infomercial industry. He used his production and people skills to create marketing that resonated with the right audience at the right time. The best-selling products were related to health and fitness, and Daikeler took this to heart. He had observed the growing proportion of overweight or obese Americans. Knowing he could play a role in making a difference in the lives of many individuals, he founded Beachbody in 1998.
Carl Daikeler’s Beachbody program began as a brief series of 12 30-minute workouts. They were in DVD format, and most people had a DVD player at home. People who bought the DVDs could engage in a workout any time. They didn’t have to buy fancy gym clothes, purchase a gym membership or invest in a bunch of bulky, heavy or noisy exercise machines. People loved the workouts, and Daikeler responded by making more.
In 2009, he added Shakeology to his program. The protein powder offered a way for people to improve their nutrition and lower their caloric intake. The results of mixing a Shakeology protein powder packet or scoop into the milk of the user’s choice are a full belly and fewer cravings for junk food and sweets. Shakeology is available in a range of flavors, and at least one will suit everybody. The flavors are chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, strawberry and more. The Beachbody and Shakeology programs work together to boost esteem and lower weight.
